On the 19 of september some year 8 students from Glen Eagles Secondary College visited us. Mrs scolyer explained what we were going to do. First we were put in groups of 4 and had a year 8 student as the leader. First we did a heart and brain dissection. We got to touch and play with them. What I thought was interesting was that the when you open the aorta you can see right through the heart. Next was the awesome rocket tea bags. So to do this we tip out the tea out and make a cylinder with the empty tea bag and stand it up next light it and the bag will burn and rise into the air. It was awesome. Next we made lava lamps. It was really hard to do but when finished it seemed pretty easy. After that we did some experiments with dry ice and don’t touch dry ice or you will get frost bite. I enjoyed it. I was fascinated by the heart and brain of a sheep and the brain was smaller than the heart.

Skype with London
This week we Skyped some people from London zoo the biggest zoo in london. We chatted with Charlotte from Skype ,Jamie and Oliver people from digital explorer and Lucy a zookeeper. Oliver first talked to us. Oliver started wanting to be a explorer at 6. One thing he said was ” if you want to learn go out and explore”. Next he talked about the kombai tribe people who he lived with in the Papua New Guinea rainforest. He said he was hard to learn there language and what amazed me was they lived in 100ft tree houses. he said the best time he had was meeting all people and making friends. Then we started talking with Lucy she talked about the London zoo animals. I think this was an amazing experience. I learnt a range of things.
